Making Memories

Yesterday I did something that seemed unreal to me. After 29 years I went back to my high school and registered my son for freshman year. High School People! I registered my baby for high school. It just doesn't seem real! Where has all the time gone? Just 4 years my sunshine boy will be 18 and of legal age! NO!
I want to make the world just stop. I want to gather him in my arms and never let go. He is my one and only. But alas, I won't be able to do that. I will just enjoy these four years as I have enjoyed the last 14. He is the sunshine of my life and I will strive to do whatever I can to ensure he enjoys these four years and to set the stage for him to be successful in life.

Life is passing so very quickly...hence the reason I haven't updated this blog. Will try to be better, but no promises. With all the happenings of life, you tend to forget to stop and just enjoy the moment or moments that we can never get back. House not clean, oh well, rather spend the day with my son (and hubby) and create some lifetime memories! Fishing, camping, whatever. I want to give him some stories he can share with his family as I have shared those memories with him. Because really, in the end, isn't that all that is left? Memories?

We started the summer celebrating Jacob's graduation from 8th grade! The redneck graduated in green and even found a tie that was sorta camo. He loved the cake his mother (me!) made that read "Got-R-Did!" We had a cake and punch reception for him and a good time was had by all.

Then on to summer where we made some memories with a week long camping trip to Lafayette, IN. A great time where Jeff got to do some fishing, Jacob had a pool to enjoy daily and got to see some wolves, Momma got to revisit her old stomping (read dancing) grounds when she showed her son The Neon Cactus (and she got some shopping in as well). We met and made some camping friends (Hello Stacie and family). Camping is such a wonderful way to spend family time! We all love our camper!

We have done other camping trips, done some fishing, some flea marketing, lots of cooking on the fire, just being a family. In June I volunteered on the Ogden 140th Celebration Committee. The celebration was attended by many and I think a great success. And at the celebration, Jeff got to do one thing on his bucket list, go up in a helicopter ride--his father's day gift from us. Jeff thought is was a wonderful time and is ready to do it again!

Jacob has been pumping iron and doing some conditioning training for football every morning at 6 since school got out in May! Yesterday marked the first "official" practice. He loved it even in this heat! Watch out quarterbacks! Can't wait for his first game!

So what are you doing today to create memories?
